Introduction

Welcome to he IEEE Jordan ComSoc and SPS joint Chapter website. The Jordan ComSoc was established in 2009 and one of the earliest chapters in the IEEE Jordan Section.  In 2019 we have established the IEEE Jordan SPS as a joint chapter with the existing ComSoc. As such, we adopted a new logo shown below.

We have reached more than 100 members 50% of which are students. Moreover, we have successfully backed the formation of five new student branches raising the total number of student branched to six.

IEEE Jordan ComSoc Congress (JCSC)

We have started our local annual events for our members titled IEEE JCSC, which is an opportunity for our members to come together and participate in a vibrant technical program, usually including an IEEE distinguished lecturer talking about the current trends in communication and signal processing.

Starting from 2018, we were fortunate to hold the JCSC in 2018, 2019 and 2020, in which we host a distinguished lecturer to discuss the current and future trends in communication and signal processing.

Membership Value

Our primary objective is to provide our members with a value for their membership.  To this end, we have held several events, summarized in

  1. Held 10 technical events, 5 of which were distinguished lectures.
  2. Held 3 technical workshops on software defined radios (SDRs), internet of things (IoT) and 5G.
  3. Participated in 11 student events.

Student Engagement

We have successfully supported the establishment of five (of the currently six chapters) student chapters, which are :

  3. Al-Zaytoonah Univ Of Jordan ComSoc chapter.

Raising the total number of student branched to six including the Yarmouk University ComSoc chapter.
